Yuriy Chernets is trained as an architect turned coder who has worked on projects around the world for global architecture firms and now leads R&D of computational design and automation systems for a national multidisciplinary engineering firm. When not building digital tools, he prefers slower, more tactile and sensory forms of creative expression through designing and building interior objects, photography, mixology, and researching cocktails and drinks history.
Yuriy bartended years ago, but the craft stayed with him. Now the same systems thinking that shapes digital tools and architectural workflows goes into developing cocktail recipes and constructing the visual identity surrounding them.
A Date with a Drink is his passion project — every recipe developed and tested, every image styled and photographed, every page personally designed. Not written from behind a bar or from an academic desk, but from a kitchen counter and a home bar cart by someone who believes a great cocktail should tell a story.
He doesn’t limit himself to a title on a business card. He likes making beautiful, curious, and useful things until the result speaks for itself.
